Global Cappings

Added: 31.05.2010 Cappings in AdOcean are limitations on the delivery of your advertisements that make use of the information stored in cookies. The most commonly used capping is the so-called "Frequency capping" that helps you stop delivering a particular advertisement after a user (cookie) has been exposed to it for a certain number of times. Such cappings could only be set on the level of a given campaign before.

AdOcean has been recently upgraded with a new major feature called 'Global Cappings'. It lets you set some types of cappings between orders of different campaigns in your AdOcean account. These global cappings depend on orders of the selected campaigns (i.e. only dependent cappings can be set at this moment) and may be set to use one for the following capping types:
  • Frequency capping
  • Frequency capping (within campaign duration)
  • Click capping (within campaign duration)
Global Cappings give you the ability to control the number of times the users (cookies) should be exposed to certain advertisements, even if these reside in different campaigns of your account. A good practical use of this feature could be limiting the delivery of aggressive ads (e.g. full screen overlays) of some selected campaigns to keep these campaigns less intrusive for the visitors of your web site.
